My father was Frederick Harper (Gunner) 1571638. He came from Stourport on Severn . Does anyone remember him ? I would like some information where he saw action etc. I also have a photo showing a couple of field guns and trucks. The trucks have insignia on the front mudguards which look like crossed keys, can some one identify please.

Hi,

You will find details of 179th Field Regiment activity in WW2 on the Worcestershire Regiment website.

Simply click on BATTALIONS and then select 12th Battalion on dropdown list, then select 179 Field Regt from sub list.

If you can email me copies of the photos I will have a look for you.
