August Offensive Gallipoli?

Postby Ap Rhys » Wed Mar 07, 2012 9:46 pm

Hi, My grandfather Pte William Price 6147 Worcester Regiment was wounded 6th August 1915. He was posted to the Med. Exped. Force on 30th April 1915. Can I discover his route between those dates, via Egypt?, eventually to Suvla perhaps? Grateful for any guidance please.

Louis,

Many thanks. Will explore 4th battalion.
Looking also for Pte Benjamin Price brother of William who may have been with him, and for Pte Thomas Plant the husband of my grandmother's sister who was certainly alongside on 6th August , wounded 6th August also.Regards

Louis,

Still looking for service record for Pte Thomas Plant 4th Worcester No: 5952 wounded 6/8/1915 Gallipoli and d of w at sea 8/8/1915.
None of the records I have found show his posting dates. Also is there any other record source for the ship he was removed to on 6th/7th/or 8th August please?

Thanks

Sorry I do not have any other records about his posting dates or the ship. You could try the National Archives at Kew. You could also check with the Regimental Archives in Worcester (there is a link to their contact details on the home page of the website).
