Hi there. I'm researching my grandfather James Francis Burke who was in 4th Bttn. He was at the 1911 Durbar but may have been in custody for getting drunk, according to family stories! I heard he spent his 17th birthday in Malta (he joined up quite young). He was later in India then France for WW1 with 4th Bttn and was 'gassed by his own side'. He survived the war despite being a sniper at one stage. (They were not usually taken prisoner). I am trying to find his service medal records if anyone can help..

many thanks,

James Burke
