This soldier died on 14.9.18 aged 22 according to his SWB record, but I cannot find him on CWGC nor the Roll of Honour on this site.

Does anyone have any information on him?

Hello John...looks like he was discharged as'no longer fit for war service'...but the date of discharge is given after the date you have given for his death.....what document have you found his date of death on? As you say nothing on cwgc and nothing in the roll of honour in the back of Stacke cheers Colin

It's the SWB roll on Ancestry.

Underneath the "cause of discharge" bit it says: d/- 14.9.18 Age 22. His is the only one of 10 other Worcs Regt men on that page to have such an annotation.

I took "d/- 14.9.18" to mean he died on that date - dangerous to assume..... should have looked in the "date of discharge column"!

So: what does "d/- 14.9.18" mean?

Cheers,

John

Hello John.....must admit I didn't know what the 'd/-' meant myself so turned to the GWF for help......I'm told it does mean 'date'......possibly date the records office received the notification of cause of discharge...hope this helps Regards Colin
