Arguably the best history of any Regiment during The Great War, written in the 1920,s, full of maps ,photographs and information condensed from the Battalions War diaries......original copies are quite valuable but recently reprinted and available for around £60..... I would copy the relevant sections if required but you might find copies in a library which you could photocopy, let me know! Cheers Colin

Did you do this journey?

I did something similar but followed Captain Gerald Lea's diary and the Official Regt diary.

Did it all to the battle of Aisne where Gerald was killed.

Would have been cobbled then - so rough going.
It was hot weather originally-

Kind regards

Mike
