In 1873 the 29th Regiment adopted this new cap badge.  Permission to use this badge was authorised on the 12th August 1873 by the Commander-in-Chief, Horse Guards, War Office, London.  This badge was used on the Officers' forage cap. A gold embroidered star of garter, with Royal motto, solid silver lion device in the centre, and a gold embroidered "29" below the star. A similar device was used on an officers' shoulder-strap, the garter and lion was on blue enamel.

An earlier version of this badge was used from 1881 to 1883 the only difference being that the garter and lion was centred on blue enamel as opposed to black cloth.

During the Second World War the introduction of battledress brought about the re-introduction of an embroidered arm title.  The above example is an alternative version which used white printing in stead of embroidered white stitching. This was used by all battalions of the regiment.

11th BATTALION SHOULDER TITLE 1942-1943

During the Second World War the 11th Battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment used this unofficial regimental motto badge as a shoulder title.  The regimental motto 'FIRM' was embroidered in white on a green curved strip.

MILITIA CAP BADGE 1890

The Worcestershire Militia used a Tower cap badge in 1890. The emblem was gold embroidered on a bright blue background. Although the Militia tried to maintain some independence by still using their Tower motif, this was superseded in 1891.
