Lieut.-Colonel Charles Arthur STREET (32826)
Commanded the 7th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment from June 1944 to February 1945.
 
Charles Arthur Street was born at Kingston, Somerset in 1904. Son of Captain Arthur Street and Violet Cecile Street (née Eden). 

On the 24th August 1924 as a 2nd Lieutenant (University Candidate) on the General List of the Territorial Army, he was granted a regular commission with the South Staffordshire Regiment with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

He was promoted to Captain on the 13th February 1936 and to rank of Major on the 27th August 1941.

He was given command of the 7th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on the 29th June 1944 as the Battalion moved into Imphal, Burma. 

Killed in action on 8th February 1945 at the Battle of Dawete (Irrawaddy).

Lieut.-Col. Charles Arthur Street is burried at Taukkyan War Cemetery (grave 19. J. 21.)  which is outside Yangon (formerly Rangoon), Burma (now Myanmar).

Captain Arthur Street was born at Rangoon, Burma in 1873.
