Some time after the war he moved to California, USA.
He later moved back to Worcester where he ran the family shop at 58 St Johns, a corn & seed/garden shop.

This was the British Base Reinforcement Camp (BBRC) which was a holding unit
for men who had recently arrive. Horace was later transferred to the 2nd
Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment
