Note: Captain L. M. Rudge was with The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) when he was mentioned-in-despatches. He served as a Sergeant with the 2nd and 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards in the 1914-18 War and awarded the Military Medal in 1916 (L.G. 03/06/1916). He was commissioned in to the Worcestershire Regiment and on the 04/06/1917 was appointed Adjutant in the 10th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. In 1919 he was attached to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and won the Military Cross (L.G. 03/06/1919). In 1939 (24/08/1939) he was recalled for war service (rank of Captain) and rejoined the Worcestershire Regiment and appointed Adjutant (07/11/1939). In 1940 he was then attached to the The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) and in 1942 with the Royal Artillery Regiment. On the 17th September 1945 he retired from the army and given the honorary rank of Major.
