Commanding Officers of the 11th Battalion

The 11th Battalion was raised in September 1915 as part of the "Third New Army" and joined the 78th Brigade of the 26th Division. The men of the 11th Battalion were mainly recruited in the north of the county of Worcestershire. The Battalion was initially commanded by Colonel R. M. Rainey-Robinson, formerly of the Idian Army, with 2/Lieut. T. J. Edwards as the adjutant. On the 21st September 1915 the 11th Battalion departed from Southampton for Boulogne, France. They then made their way to the Somme valley. On the 3rd November 1915 orders were received instructing the 11th Battalion to head for Marseilles, where on the 12th November 1915 the 11th Battalion (with the rest of the 26th Division) embarked for Serbia. They finally arrived at Salonika on the 24th November 1915.

On the 30th September 1919 the 11th Battalion ceased to exist and the officers and men were absorbed into the 9tha Battalion.

The 11th Battalion was raised again in June 1940.

Below is a list of all the officers who have commanded the 11th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment from 1915 to 1942.
